Telenova have shared their new single, ‘Discothèque Inside My Head’. The Australian trio have formed a unique sound that, at its core, is a cinematic take on alt-pop, but with the sample-driven influence of trip-hop and disco working its way in. This one is particularly kaleidoscopic, with evolving electric guitars jangling their way towards a memorable climax. “It’s essentially a 6-minute mini-musical”, explains Angeline Armstrong, director of the track’s ambitious music video. “Starting with an off-beat audition sequence where I’m literally being judged by myself (the inner critic made all too real), the competing dancers in the video represent the voices of comparison and self-doubt in my head…but me and the voices ultimately learn to dance happily ever after.” Catch the band live in London on October 1st, 2024. -Dan Peeke
